Without You.

Two years without your footsteps on the earth,
how strange then
that life has gone on
without you,
Flowers have blossomed, bloomed and withered,
whole seasons have passed
without acknowledging our loss,
Defiant of our grieving
the sun
has gone about her business,
and the moon
still nightly appears
as if nothing has changed
but the passing of years.
I thought for a while at least,
for a little
little while
time should
have stood
still,
and the elements
out of respect ,
should have silently and motionlessly wept
But days have come and gone
one,
after the other
and another and another,
two years
and
life goes on
without your footsteps
seasons pass without your song
two years
and I carry you with me
your breath has ceased
your spirit strong.
