Within the Fog Distant Mountains Strain

“Within the fog the distant mountains strain Bruised in shades lavender and forest green Each angle decomposing ~ ~ ~ in the rain” While dreary dawn, dazed, awakens in pain Trapping blushed morning in languid ravine Within the fog the distant mountains strain Darkened is design sketched on golden plane Shadowed is rosy grin of once pristine scene Each angle decomposing ~ ~ ~ in the rain While crystal skyline drenches in cloudy reign Blurring scarlet arc decaying in fading sheen Within the fog the distant mountains strain Stellar stage is roiled in motifs of graying stain Splintered are dim-beams upon ashen sateen Each angle decomposing ~ ~ ~ in the rain Though hope gleams as winds start to wane Lifting purpled amethyst zeal, as yet unseen, Within the fog the distant mountains strain Each angle decomposing ~ ~ ~ in the rain May 6, 2021 Placed 1st: Choose your form poetry contest Stanza chosen : option 1 Sponsor: Joseph May

Wonderful imagery, Vijay ! I always feel that villanelle is a difficult form, that I haven't so far attempted to do ! Feel great admiration since you have done it with such perfection !

I would not want to be Joseph judging this contest. I think I would divide the winners into the four groups of the poetry forms he allowed us to choose from. Judging is going to be a nightmare! Your poem is pristine Vijay! I hope it wins big! Blessings Connie

"Each angle decomposing ~ ~ ~ in the rain, distant mountains strain" This thought wraps softly around me, reminding me, that I must continue to reach for my destination. This is beautiful and tender, all at the same time. ~ Brandy

Wow, Vijay. This is so good. I can imagine looking through the fog at hazy objects and see the red sun without it hurting my eyes. i see mountains everyday but I especially love looking at then when they are partially covered by a cloud or in the early morning low hanging clouds. Exception writing. Really nice:)
