Within Me

Through yesterdays eyes, I swear I could see tomorrow
With eyes now open, I see 'tis only a feeling cheap and borrowed
Nothing worst than falling out of love
One day kisses and hugs
Today, my LOVE was stolen from me
Not her, but LOVE itself
A fleeting thief, I suppose
Cynical humor was never a favorite of mine
Yet I hear their laughter
Ever-long
Evermore
A hole in my heart that's sore
Like eyes ridden with angst
Bloodshot and beautiful
Who was I to believe
'Tis not a joust
Even if I feel the force hitting my soul
Breaking into my being, spreading it thinly
I wish for sleep
