Within Me

You weren't there. You aren't here. You didn't help me, When I needed a bandaid. When I needed a hug. When I needed my dad. I came to you, You blew me off. You never taught me What a man should be. I made countless mistakes. But with your neglect I learned how much I mean to me. I am who I am Not because of you, But because of me. Those words you lack to say, I will tell myself proudly. I am proud of me! I love me! So thank you! Thank you for nothing!
