Within Her Eyes

In her eyes

She looks upon his face as tears spill down his cheek
and she thinks of words she wished to speak
She wishes to thank him for all he's done
For taking her in and making her what she's become
She wishes to thank him for their intertwined fingers
And wants to tell him she enjoyed the hugs that lingered
She wants him to know what it meant when their lips combined
And the warmth she felt when they lay with their arms entwined
And she wants him to know that it's more than just a feeling
Their relationship had a much deeper meaning
The goodbye she spoke would leave him broken
But her eyes spoke what she didn't say in this brief moment
