Within

In the woods I search for my soul
The part of me that keeps me whole
Under rocks I look and look
I search the trees and in the brook
This long path it takes me back
Let go of all the things I packed
The things I do not need
The things that make me sore and bleed

I search the open sky in wonder
The clouds are dark in rolls the thunder
The rain washes my sorrow away
In its wake I want to stay
Lightning strikes a big tree
I run from all the dropping debris
I call out for my soul
I still feel lost, still feel cold

The thunder shakes the ground below me
It shakes me up and disagrees
I look under each tree
In the holes where could it be?

The sun comes out and shines down on the earth
The rays follow me in my worth
I look up and smile and laugh
My souls been here on my behalf
Be free young one and learn to laugh
Open your eyes to what you are
Natures in each and every scar
The universe secrets are open to all
But you have to listen and learn to crawl
Your soul is in every star
You’re soul is you and the universe you are.
