Withdrawn

I hear a whisper in the cold lonely night
I am watching over you, don’t lie consumed in fright
I want so to believe I am not in this alone
I shiver as emptiness seeps through to the bone
Hiding behind locked door shutting out the world
Twisted thought envelopes as loneliness unfurled
A force I do not know caress my bleeding heart
Mind easing back to reality gives a new start
From the depth of sorrow and loneliness
I long for something to end this helplessness
Desire for peace spawns ideas to end it all
Fear of consequence holds me from the fall
Maybe a new day will bring sweet release
If only for a moment might bring a treasured peace
