Notes About The Poem

Author's Notes:  This romantic Shakespearean Sonnet, entitled:  "With You Forever My Love," is a love sonnet set in Iambic Pentameter. This is another love-romance poem much in the same tradition as some of the others I've most recently written and released.  As with many of my past writes of a similar nature, this is a very emotive poem because of the subject at hand being discussed. I hope you will find this sonnet and the message it reveals to be of interest!!  (Gary Bateman - December 21, 2014) (Shakespearean Sonnet poetic format)

Categories:  allegory, beauty, emotions, feelings, love, romance, and together.

The technical parameters of this Sonnet are rendered as follows:

Total # Syllables:  140

Total # Lines:  14

Total # Words:  118

With You Forever My Love

With You Forever My Love

Darling no matter what’s coming our way,
We’ll be full and content in heart and soul,
As we both walk with joined hands day by day,
Our love will give us so much to extol!

May our love be such a joy on this Earth,
As we seek meaning in life daily spent.
We must master our destiny from birth,
To learn what the Angels in Heaven meant!

With faith and love pure we’re happily one,
As we march with hands joined against all strife;
We’ve learned the reason why for being one,
Is to know God’s part of us in our life!

With our passion one in Heaven above;
Please know I’m with you forever my love!

Wow, Gary I am bereft of all words. This poem is absolutely phenomenal; with a bodaciously outlined rhyme and just the way it flows. I infer we have quite a similar style of writing and I'd love to collaborate with you in future. Have you published a poetry anthology before? O yah, I give you ''7'' and ''FEV'' + ''7'' and ''FEV''. Best always, Choene

Thanks again Choene for your most fabulous comments here. I believe you hit the point regarding the similarity of styles we both use in writing (especially with the Sonnet). Recommend you try some heroic couplets. Your read my "Present," but the "Past" and the "Future" heroic couplets complete the trilogy of the thought. My poetry anthology is to be published soon. (Working on final stages of it now.) I would like to collaborate with you in the future. Best!! Gary

Hello Robert!! Yes -- Sonnets (both Shakespearean and Petrarchan) and Heroic Couplets tend to be my personal favorites. You know as well as I do, that many people shy away from these kinds of writes do to the intensity and demand needed for the meter and rhyme to fit one's thoughts, imagery, words, tone, etc. It's a challenge, but that is why I, like you, LIKE TO WRITE!! (Ingrid did indeed love this poem!!) Best Always, Gary

"D" -- Thanks my dear so much!! I always enjoy your reading of my poems and your observations!! Although I do (and I will) continue to learn and experiment over time with other poetic formats, I find the "Sonnet" to be probably the most interesting and fun for me to write -- Metered or Unmetered, but they must rhyme -- of course!! (I've been off-line a short while with Christmas prep and all.) Merry Christmas "D" and Best Wishes!! Gary
