With You

I dreamt of the tidal wave

pushing me under as

I push myself up for air.

Which way is up?

Which way is down?

My arms are getting tired

I think i’m going to drown.

All I feel is my soul reaching…

for help, for someone, for something

to save me.

Nothing comes of course,

so my body is taken over

by the current.

It sways the way it wants,

and death… it wants for me.

I accept it…

Then I am no longer under water,

I am with you.
