With Her By My Side

Walking alone through the empty sidewalks
Walking in the freezing cold
trying to numb away the doldrums
Bundled up like a stalker
I need to get away from here
To escape however brief
I need to get away from here
so that I can see her
She’s what I need
I’m walking all alone tonight
Freezing to death outside
because I’m pretending I’m walking
with her by my side
holding hands
and loving every stride
