With Every New July
And when July is born
There’s magic to behold
The sun is shining bright
The sheen is made of gold
The kids are racing bikes
And learning how to fly
I wish that I could be them
With every new July
When friends are having fun
They gather with delight
The ones with sleeping bags
Are sharing heaven’s light
The sky is full of stars
That twinkle by and by
I wish that I could see them
With every new July
The flower beds are deep
The summer grass is tall
The trees are full of leaves
That beckon to us all
Where forests are receding
And springs are running dry
I wish that I could free them
With every new July.
