With Child

Do you know what it feels like To be with child is a delight And a horror as you grow You worry for health wealth everything else soul Then you feel the first flutters At about 3 months melts you like butter Take your fingers wiggle them funny That is how it feels in your tummy Then your senses get cranked up Of some things you can’t get enough Or you may have morning sickness And feel strange at your new thickness Carrying a child is a big deal Emotions go wild let Jesus take the wheel You feel ugly and beauty at some time Finally baby comes so sweet so divine.

Nine months of mystery can be more than folk can bear, so take (and give) care! Aloha!

Indeed, Karen. Your wonderful pen spills the ups and downs, the joys and worries and yes, the ugly and the beauty of pregnancy. Splendid poetry! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
