Linked Shadorma
A Shadorma is of Spanish origin and consists of a 6 line stanza using the following syllable counts: 3/5/3/3/7/5. There is no rhyme scheme.
Memories
fuel nostalgic dreams
tethered to
family
and innocence; lost to time...
when I was a child.
Bogeymen,
back then, were pretend...
I'd stay out
all summer,
playing till it was too dark
to see anything.
Supper was
served at the table,
mum would cook
a hot meal
and we kids did the dishes...
that was our routine.
Marbles and
bubblegum cards were
like money,
I'd gamble
in games of skill after school...
trying to win more.
I would take
walks into the woods
by myself,
surrounded
by the presence of nature...
in hushed solitude.
