Notes About The Poem

Wishing

George was having a secret love affair
Breaking his marriage vows without a care
A cheater deceiving
A husband believing
That his wife was totally unaware.

But George wife was beginning to suspect
The doubt, the not knowing and disrespect
So she hired a P.I.
To go spy on her guy
But felt uneasy in what to expect.

George phone was tapped and pictures were taken
Of hotels where they did their love makin'
Evidence was gathered
Everything that mattered
And places where they had been in-between.

When his wife saw the proof, there was no doubt
She challenged him, then gave him a good clout
He begged, he pleaded
She then next proceeded
Into throwing him and all his stuff out.

Their house had been sold, the money was split
He had moved in with his new fancy bit
Lovers fighting soon came
Killing lusts burning flame
And his doubt about wanting to commit.

Not knowing what to do or start again
His thoughts and emotions were in a spin
So he upped and left
His money he'd invest
And to reflect on his cardinal sin.

Susie was younger, George was more senior
Grass isn't always any more greener
He's now lives in a flat
With a budgie and cat
Wishing he hadn't cheated on Gina.

Thanks for sharing these limericks midst your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Hello Beryl and thank you. Yes she is. Once the trust is broke, it is very hard to get that back again, if at all. Emilia : )
