Notes About The Poem

Wishful Thinking

It's the New Year's boom
with colored fireworks lauding,
the toast of the town.
The proud, old guard has vanished,
with its dreams, yet unvanquished.

Hues light the plum night;
'midst crash and bang in the skies.
Starry-eyed moon glows.
The past's still following me,
but only in memory.

Very fun Evelyn! I didn't host a celebration this year, but we enjoyed watching some of the fireworks lighting up the sky around our neighborhood. Happy New Year, I hope 2025 is filled with many blessings for you <3

Unless my partial amnesia is still playing hide-and-seek, I was never a fanatic about parties at the end of the year. Still, you described such a party in an excellent way.
