Wishes Don'T Make It
It's time to take a reality check
Before we break each other's neck!
The intentions were good when we started out,
Only kind words, never a shout.
As time went by learning each others ways
Word changed from good to silent days.
Days to weeks and weeks to years.
Eyes full of joy turned to tears.
Our intentions were good there's no denying,
But we only caused saddness as we kept trying.
What was so wrong with this choice we had made ?
Time taken back, our choices we'd trade.
I wish we could find the contentment we seek,
But wishes don't make it, they just make us weak.
Who would have guessed life would be like this ?
We just wanted the kindness and goodness we'd missed.
