WISHES

She seeded a lot of things
But didn’t live long enough to see the fruit:
I'd like my mother back for a while
And give her what I couldn’t as a child.

Then I’d like to see my kids
Settled in their families and happy:
All grown up, woman or man,
Succeeding at what they began.

Lastly, I’d like to meet again
All the people I’ve wronged:
And hopefully make amends
So as to count them all again as friends.
