Wishes

Solid in nature But dripping with irony Like ice Cold and stiff But once grazed by doubt Leaks away Never to be sustained A Warmth like blood A taste Sharp and sour Spoiled rotten To be reached again Incessantly craved

There is a bittersweetness to your writing. The title is called "Wishes" but the poem as a grit that is sharp and hits hard, rather than that of a wish to be uplifting, this has a bit of darkness in it. Thank you for the reading.

Dear Ash, indeed, wishes are fragile. You believe they can come true till they don't. A yearning piece. Congratulations for your win in Craig's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
