Wish You Back

While taking a walk
I thought of the reasons
And mistakes I have made
I felt your hand in mine
A cold wind blew
I knew I was alone

Tell me where you are
Did your heart turn dark
All I can do now
Is wish you back
Upon the next falling star

While laying in bed
Thoughts crossed my mind
Of the nights with you
The morning sun rose
All my strength is lost

My heart feels you near
We can fix this mess
But all I can do now
Is wish you back
Upon the next falling star

'...upon the next falling star' is a lovely phrase... so good you used it twice! Another wistful piece, exquisitely expressed. Best wishes, Keith
