Wish Upon the Rain
Scented mornings become a spill of bedlam
While her soul sweeps away stagnant rainbows
Sunset skies shower tears of filth
Ever-changing from warm to gray
Laying oceans built from tears beneath memories
As she had it planned the night before...
Sadness bids at her doorstep
Reminding her of the task
Silently waking she kisses each petal
Two notes have already been penned
Lips glazed with fresh color
Eyes penciled black
Her cheeks glow pink in the darkness
Stars hang by strings from the ceiling
A portrait of jealousy..
She pulls on a white dress made of satin
Candles warping the moment
A quality picture of contrast
Scarlet meets a porcelain figure
Breathing is a lost option
The chalky notes are the last of this girl
Her wings just weren't enough
The petals are left to her lover
She used her heart as a crayon
Pulling tears with each string
In the end nobody could help her
She lay broken as a statue
Abandoning everything
The second note she read out loud
Their sobbing could be heard
From every neighbor's doorstep
A world that never noticed
Was stamped with every word
