Wish I Hadn'T Dreamed

WISH I HADN’T DREAMED

Able bodied Doves and other
BIRDS IN FLIGHT suddenly
Collided, plummeting to their
DEATH. Why? Did
Each one
FALL like FALLING winged FAIRIES after FINDING A BOX of directions how
To
Give up their flights of
HAPPINESS? Later as I dreamed further,
I saw those Doves struggling with the carnivorous
JUNGLE creatures below. Green
Keratin was forming on growths of
LABYRINTH shaped scales, no longer a
MIRROR REFLECTION of the beautiful
NECKLACE
Of
Pearls the Doves wore while flying just minutes ago.
Quietly, those pearls were
Removed by bad tempered
Storks trying
To
Usurp the remaining flocks’
Visions of perfect flight. I finally woke up
While in New York city as
Xylophones announced the semi-annual parade of
Yentas’ dressed for the occasion in
Zoot suits.
