Wish I Could

I wish I could stand on
tables and boldly shout
that I am, and will be
powerful, and yet my
legs always fail at the
thought at an upward step...

I dream I could speak
the language of my
truth with no fear of
consequence, but my
breath just vanishes...

I imagine
the cages in
which I am now
imprisoned (and

I know they
are not, but
they do feel

like they
are my

home)
