Wish Away My Day
I'm just a girl I can't be more
I don't have fans swinging through my door
I don't have much my family's poor
My reputation sucks and my life's a bore
Everyday I watch them score
They're on the news or
Become worldwide cuz there education is sure
I'm only a kid in the downpour
Standing still just waiting for a cure
It's never gonna come my minds a war
So I'm not famous
What can I say
I'm not like them
But I'll wish away my day
So I'm not perfect
I'm just me
Exactly who I want to be
I'm not special that's plain to see
Just an old country girl from Tennessee
Nobody knows me I'm not on tv
There's a lock and success and I don't have the key
Just a girl who's name is Marie
Not a person who has there own cd
Not a star everyone can agree
It's towering above me like a tree
Not even smart, without a degree
Popularity doesn't seem to be my cup of Tea
Gems in the sky
That's what we are
Please don't like lie
We won't say goodbye
Cuz we all shine bright
It's all in our sight
If we open out eyes
And ignore the lies
And nobody dies
We've all grown wise
It's in your eyes
That we're all gems in the sky
So I'm not famous
What can I say
I'm not like them
But I don't have to wish away my day
So I'm not perfect
I'm just me
Exactly who god
Meant me to be
