Wish

Just before release
You looked up at the sky
The world turned pitch black
Even with the sun shining down your back

Eyes trembled
And palms sweat
Time stopped
Never to be resumed again

You wish and wish to turn it back
But suddenly dizziness pulls you out
You realize with a broken heart
The world never stops for anyone

So you do the only thing you can
You drop to your knees
And let the dreadful scream out

Congrats! Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God bless you.
