This is true. Well done. Congratulations on your win. My father use to say it is better to be wise than honest, honesty can be too brutal. ;) Lee

Dan: Thanks for your response. I may seem redundant in my replies to those who sent me congratulatory messages, but believe me when I say each one is cherished. I'll start a journal by printing all of them out and hope to fill it with responses from you all on any contests I may win, place, or show in the future.

Carol: Twice, I have tried to respond to your congratulatory message, and twice, my computer dumped it. Hopefully, this third time will be a charm. I'll make it shorter than the two previous attempts. You are (and have always been) an encouragement and an inspiration to me since I joined Soup. I can depend on you to come through. Thanks for keeping me on track.

Curtis, Cool...knowledge is on the level of the human serpent(imagination) human mind wisdom...while the moral discipline in the way one uses knowledge marks one's attention to the moral value of the quality of higher precedence; his precept wisdom! Agape, Moses

John: Thank you for selecting my entry for a first place win in your contest. Also, a great vote of thanks on your comments. When I saw that the contest required no particular form, I clicked the "enter contest" button and the words just came to me. You gave my words greater meaning with your explanation. Thanks again! Curtis

Bob: Thanks for your response. I stepped out on faith and submitted what turned out to be a 1st place spot -- much to my surprise. I'll hone my thought patterns and try to wrap my head around some of the different forms of poetry and enter other contests. Even if I don't win or place, I will gain great experience in different types of verse.

Thanks, Ralph! I was quite surprised to see my remarks on wisdom garner a 1st place spot in John's contest. I never think of myself as a poet -- just a guy who can rhyme a few words. The challenge of just making a comment regarding my thoughts on wisdom instead of having to write a poem helped me get up the courage to enter. I'm grateful that John saw it worth being given a 1st place win.
