Wintersun
I awake on a cold morning in a warm wintersun.
The red dawn sky, white snow clouds float bye.
A cool breeze on my face, a wind so cold.
My body so warm in a cold dark place.
My lips are blue just like my eyes.
But I carry on regardless going this way and that.
I wish I had remembered my old woolly hat.
A robin perches on an ice covered tree.
Chirping, whistling staring at me.
In the snow a cat tries to run but the bird is too quick.
By the time it gets there the robin has gone.
I smile at nature its amazing to see.
Love watching the squirrels upside down on the tree.
Looking for nuts or any bread crumbs That have been left on the floor.
Suddenly an old lady rustles a plastic bag.
The grey runs over. But suddenly like magic there are more.
I walk by the duck pond and watch the geese.
Flapping their wings and hissing at me.
A few dogs are taking their owners for walks.
The animals bark to each other. Having a talk.
Its a strange world where we believe we rule.
But the truth is we are a poor race the animals think us a fool
We do the same thing almost every day.
Sometimes we need to change our ways.
I want to be better in all I do, all that I know.
But I wasted so many years. My life is like the snow.
I melt at all my ambitions. Never get things done.
Just like the old snowman one day here the next gone.
And tomorrow. I will awake again under a wintersun.
How I wish for a rainbow. Just to brighten the day.
