Winter's Waste
Winter always seemed to hold you
never letting spring burst through
Cold were the nights and dark
some days spent on loving you
fires never would ignite
or light your heart enough
for mine to shine into
broken glass reflected
eyes, another had shattered
frozen spots that love
could not unthaw
I longed for the robin's
song, the wet morning dew
the sun to kiss my face
Oh! how I hated to leave
consumed in what
I was unable to erase
