Winter's Tears

As I walk through the snow
and think upon
our time together
I know you were
everything to me-

Maybe in silence
there were things I couldn't say
but time descends upon my heart
and I know of all my life
you were my favorite part-

Ageless as the snow that falls
burning memories into me
your love remains within
and I am reminded I will never be free-

Because rivers meet the sea
seasons come and go
but etched on my soul
are the footprints of you
but that you will never know-
