Winters Reign
A day of reckoning is upon us
Winds that pick and toss rain that pelts and soaks
Pick up your armor, release the shields
Only to have it ripped from your grasp
Alone you wander through the wreckage
Lost souls twinned in the feat of battle
Feel the thunder smash into the land
As the heavens let loose another incursion
Splatter goes your only hopes
As you hold your hand up to catch the drizzle
Covered, head to toe in the past, future, the present
Feel the hurt that we have devastated
Wash away in the downpour
The earth quenched from another conflict
As if the clouds have not had enough
They continue their downward spiral
But alas, there is an opening
The foretold eye, an empty chasm
Where the grass streaks green
The trees sway from releasing their chains of water
Spring can see once again
For the colors that stripe the atmosphere
Show the end of this abhorrent misery
The rain will come again, you know so
But for now, bask in the sunlit circle
For it will be gone soon, To the monsoon
