Winter's Path

Scant trees release their burden... Heralding the chaos yet to come. The future dim... and out of sync As leaves perish one by one. The greenery fades away... The oak stands bold and brave. Flowers doomed by a precocious frost Are laid deep within the grave. An ill wind now crisp and sullen... A harbinger malevolence lies ahead. As I... the one in winter's path Spend the next four months in bed. The End
