We loved the luxury of indoor, ice skating at the Chicago Arena.
My skate case, was of , bue alligator outsde, with peacock satin
interior!
Gold locks, that shined like the morning sun as Daddy drove us in
The snow, for an afternoon of skating fun.
The figure skates, white, polished, were my joy and pride
The Arena was huge and had its own organ, whose harmonics, made
us glorious hearts, joyfully glide!
So proud we were to skate to such fun, adult luxury, Dad hired a trainer.
I gained faith in myself, because with him, skating was then, was with him a a total no-brainer.
Clarence was an experienced player gentleman and so very, par
Excellance.
That skating become as fun as being at your senior high school,
senir dance
I learned to not be fearful. as we glided with perfection I could skate along,
We skated for hours....my cousins, friends and I, the day became a song!
Those were such special, dear hours of learning and such awesome grace,
Wisdom,
I thought I was in God’s own special place,
I always had a upon my dimpled, girlies face,
Falls and spills_ golly, I simply had no room for such space!
At real ice shows, we so admired costumes and how quickly the
Show and its talents passed.
Alas, the decades have, disappeared like the sumptuos, beauty of
Fog, way, way too fast!
The Zamboni of life has cleared all of this, im its way!
A technicolor, memory of many loved winters, swept away!
How much this heart wants to bring back the joyous ice skating,
But, the days of fun, companionship and young, free, laughter
