Winters Cruelty

Winters Cruelty

The cold set in , winters here.
A season some enjoy, a season some fear.
People hurrying to their destined places
A healthy pink glow on their faces.
Mom is baking more than normally
And Dad is budgeting for fuel energy.
Children all bundled to play outside
Most people taking it all in their stride.
Still, a ill feeling comes over me
             For some winter brings tragedy.
Not all are as fortunate as you and me
They are alone, cold and hungry.
So each night before I got to bed
              I press my hands together
              and bow down my head,
I pray; " God Thank You for all I have got
But most of all, give to those who have not."
