Winter's Breath

Inhaling deep
the blackened night
of frosted effect.
Arrested beauty,
blankets of white
chilled to the bone.
Crisp and shielded
in sheltered shadows
of surrounding silence,
it tickles the ground
like frozen crystals
in a curtain of cover;
An air of Winter
cloaked in
a lung's caress.
