Winter Solstice

Drawn-out nights come with
Brief days now the sun sits still
We sit by the fire

Like the use of personification in the second line. The last line is a pleasant thought--good way to pass the evening. Keep on writing! Have a good day. Karen

I like the comparative analysis between the sun and sitting before the fire to get warm. The images are wonderful. I like the essence of the poem and the message. Great job! ~Joseph

that fire sound real nice, as i type this i'm in a room of the house that is very cold, it faces the mountains and there is this valley between us and them and nothing to stop the cold winds, so i can't be on the computer very long. thank you for reading my poem and for your comment.

Lovely Haiku, Laura. I've got my cosy log fire going here. Good luck if you are entering seashell's contest (and if the bugs in the soup are frustrating you then see my blog). Love, Nigel
