Winter Snow

Winter arrived without warning snow quickly sprinkles white soft fluffy flakes ---floating--- plummeting to the ground below crystal prisms dance intermittently in the sunlight landscape now takes on a bleak ghostly shade of white devoid of all colors compared to falls dramatic colors warm air changes to cold temperatures continue to drop liquid forms to ice snow piles mount creating dune like formations white dust blows---swirling--- with winter snow

Phyllis, you have painted a chilling picture with this wonderful verse. I do hope snow stays away from my area up to spring, I can't weather the icy stuff. I love it's beauty though. Stay warm! I enjoyed the read~ Caryl

A beautiful picture of winter, Phyllis. I love seeing your new posts! I had intended to do so much tonight but first I had the grandkids here till 10 and then my son called and talked an hour on the phone. Oh my how time does fly. Now it's nearly 1! (your grill cheese sounded yummy)

Winter storms came early in the U.S., Phyllis. Some states had a foot of snow before halloween. If you stare at that "bleak" white blanket when the sun is out, you'll find a prism of colors. Living in the South, I don't see much snow (if any) but I remember how the ice would form after an unseasonably warm winter day. Sometimes it was thick enough for a child to skate on the snow. Very much enjoyed your description of the first snowfall. Love, Carolyn

As I get older I hate the thought of winter. Means pulling out jacket boots, mitts and trying to stay warm. It is just below freezing at the moment so not bad as yet. Icy roads are the problem at the moment.
