Winter Rain
"Winter Rain"
The Lady in the grey mackintosh stands stark and somber in the cold, grey
winter rain.
Her body is stiff and still as she waits calmly for the last bus to arrive.
She is holding a brightly coloured umbrella above her head, the colours shine out against the dark sky, they appear to symbolise seasons of her life.
The heavy grey rain pours against the umbrella causing a trail of coloured shadows to form in the street lite puddles at her feet. The pavement seems to glisten with a shimmer of wet paint from the reflection off the umbrella.
The night sky turns heavier and the lady in the grey mackintosh shivers, the colours are gone and her transport arrives, to take her home.
