Winter Park
O’re the ground fresh snow lays thick
No footprints can you see
So new the snow no one has trod
Not even you and me.
Come let’s dent this mantle white
Leave footprints in the park
Where winter’s beauty we can see
Against a sky so dark.
Look can you see the holly tree
They say she wears the crown
With berries bright and beautiful
To dress her prickly gown.
And look up at the tall bear trees
You can see the mistletoe too
Come let’s stand beneath and
I’ll share a kiss with you.
Don’t stop now let’s trudge on
For there’s a chestnut tree
Let’s pick some of her prickly seeds
And roast them for our tea.
