Winter of Life
Note: A mix of free verse and rhyme
Blowing cold winds severe, winter is here!
Frozen hands and feet, getting out of bed a feat
Mist covers the surrounds, biting chill abounds
Hot drink in hand, shivering we stand
Snow difficult to walk upon, with acute difficulty we march on...
What do you do when there is winter in your life
When cold winds blow and you shiver
When there's fog all around, nothing is visible
When bright sun is less, dark nights are long
When hands are frozen, body is numb,
path is covered with snow,
and you are forced to trudge along...
When passing through winters of life
Light the lamp of faith and hope
Hold on the flames bright and steady
Spread the warmth of love and compassion
Lighten the day through cheerful disposition
White barren winter brings Christmas
Colourful sparkling green trees bestows joy
Children delight in snow, making snowman
They feel the presence and love of God through Christmas gift
Transient winter are followed by spring
Life, light and warmth they bring
There is a beauty and purpose in every season
We just need foresight, preparations and positive disposition
