Winter Now
Winter now
Let me lie down
Like a seed
Deep in the shadows
In the quiet bowels
Of the black earth
And dream
Of the sun
Let me
Behind all curtains drawn
Closing out
The whiteness of my world
The cold
That will not go away
While I long
For the green of day
Let it
Invisible in my heart
Pines solitary
In the gray sky
Slumber
In the sweet repose
Of blackness
Until the sun
Kiss the hypocotyl
To display
Itself without fanfare
