Winter Morning from my Window
In the perfect stillness and quiet of the early morning
the earth lies dreaming.
Warm beneath a blanket of pristine snow.
sent from the heavens overnight
Undisturbed by bird , beast or human kind
A Hint of blue sky through the trees
and a sliver of sunlight illuminating the wire fence
add a further touch of magic to this matchless scene
Peace beyond imagination
I close my eyes and join the earth in dreaming.
In the distance a skylark sings
