Winter Lover

winter lover

stay a while
quietly
in the winter of my woods
open your mind and listen
for the sound of snow falling
a birds wing humming
soon the geese
will thread the air with calls
that melt the earth.
for now rest
among the evergreens
and light the fire,
whisper tales to me.

Such a soothing piece of poetry...almost like a falling into soft pillows before sleep gently lulls you into contented dreams. Beautifully penned, Patricia! Lots of warm hugs! :) john

I love the soft pillows thought and your so tired you feel your body actually slipping into blessed sleep. Kind of like Christmas eve when the last chore is accomplished and the house is al silent except for the gentle sounds of sleeping. Thank you for that lovely thought
