Winter In the Canyon

Snow blankets the canyon walls.
The herd watches..occasionally
shaking the flakes from manes and tails..
difficult times ahead- but knowing some
safety from the elements in their
sheltered hideaway. The old gray
stallion nickers to this years foals,
reassuring them in his way. He has
seen this many times before, spring
will come again and with it new
life and beauty. Lost in the white
lace of winter..they endure.
