Winter Haiku

bird feeders are still
not one bird, breakfast waits
the shadows don't move

a hill covered white
snow shines in the sun's glory
no clouds can be seen

sapphire blue sky
chimneys smoke in cold air
winter's sun, so bright

everything is still
sounds have frozen in silence
footprints can be seen

A descriptive penning, Heidi, of what I seldom see nowadays since moving back to Hawaii, but you do stir my mainland experiences. Also, I appreciate your posted concerns on my blog, Aloha, William

Lovely winter scenery in these linked poems. A delight --when sun shines on frigid landscapes.
