Winter Blues
Another year has begun
And I am not having fun
I long for the summer
And the warmth of the sun
I hibernate
this time of year
I’ve gained weight
From Christmas cheer
Somewhere north
Snow is falling
But here, in Georgia
Ice is thawing
I look around
There’s only death
No leaves, or flowers
I see my breath
Good thing I have my muse
I write a rhyme, to pass the time
I have the winter blues
