Winter Blues
Tiny tips of green thrusting their way through the cold earth
You look and scratch your head and wonder, what did i plant there
Its cold, the tiny bulbs shiver as though close to death
Being a friendly gardener I try to block the wind with care
Be off with you winter you've been here far to long move over for the spring
You have had your monents your chances to shine
You brought the snow to impress us and make childrens voices ring
Winter blues are all but over now , spring will be just fine.
Snow is beautiful I must admit, soft yet scrunchy underneath your feet
The snowman the children built did look rather swell
Carrot nose sultana eyes and clothes I hadnt finished with yet
But with the sun peeping out, poor snowman doesnt look so well
So wintry sun are you the guide for springs sunshine, you pathe the way
So those poor tips of green will grow and bring forth flowers galore
The daffodils, tulips, freesia and snowdrops, loving the day
That the sun will help you forget those winter blues for sure.
