Winter Blues

The winter was long
it came in like the lamb
but continued to roar like a lion
the snow came down lightly
piling snowflake after snowflake
soon it became knee deep
it continued and became waist deep
instead of walking thru water at a beach
it became walking thru heavy clinging snow
each breath inhale and exhale
become laboured by the cold and exercise
instead of warm sandy water in bare feet
we were in deep heavy snow with snow boots
dreams of warmth and the sun and far away places.

Hello Phyllis, winter and spring always seem to battle it out. When it is springs turn to come, winter seems to want to stay longer. Hugs. /Darlene/

Hello Dear Phyllis you sound like you live where some of my family are from. My Grandmother was from Oswego, New York I once saw on the news it snowed 11 feet there and they were shoveling off their roof on tv. But Philadelphia where I was born was 3 degrees F, 7F , all month of January was the coldest on record. But I have a heater and blankets , hats and pajamas. ????. It snowed a lot here but not like you described. It has in the past but the descriptions you wrote were specific ! Love Pat

Whether it is a too long beach walk or treading through heavy snow - both lose their savor, when labored, still the experience brings us joy when rest comes…lol

- From lamb to lion ... a great comparison - Yes, winter makes us dream of a warmer place ... without snowmobiling ... for those who don't know winter don't know how tiring it is - A wonderful poem about truth, my dear friend :) - hugs

thanks my friend. Yes for those who don't know winter they have no idea how cold or how the snow can play you out trying to walk thru it. Hitting alot of -30 weather the past few weeks so getting tired of it. You can feel the cold thru the house when this cold. I wear a bunny hug to keep warm. love phyl
