Winter Birds - Lei

A blue jay cries high in the tree
on a branch, vibrant blues we see

A cardinal pair perched for seed
as the bright red male takes the lead 

A chickadee lands as he sings
a dee, dee, dee and flaps his wings

A grey nuthatch lands upside down
and feeds never turning around

Your bird and nature poems are real, and really well written. I've been enjoying them. In April every year a hummingbird will come to my yard and, looking confused, look for the nectar feeder until I put it up. That's my cue. Best to you.
