Winter At Last

I awoke this morning and looked out the door
and I thought to myself that our fall is no more

The leaves have fallen the trees are all bare
the north wind is blowing and a chill in the air

Sparrows are playing outside on the ground
chirpping and singing and scurying around

The snow clouds are gathering ever so fast
and it is getting colder as each hour pass

The snow is beginning to really come down
like a beautiful blanket covering the ground

I love the seasons and Christmas and things
but I find myself already wishing for spring
