Winter
The cool north wind is blowing
Winter is here to stay
Sweaters are out and airing
Lets go out and play
Rivers have frozen and stopped flowing
Its snowing, its snowing, its snowing
The aroma of burning wood
The smell of hot coffee
Warm jacket with red hood
Eating marshmallows and toffee
Sparrows among the applewood
Brings memories of girlhood
Snowflakes on hair and pink noses
Gloves and colourful mittens
Garden full of fragrant roses
Cat with her litter of kittens
Grandpa in the sun dozes
