Winter

The sun breaks through the grey morning mist,
                     Winter boughs glazed in shimmering light,
                     Dew drops glisten, caress and kiss,
                     Birds chirp in the thicket, before they take flight,
                     Quietly the sun slips into repose, arousing the portal of night
